Interserve USA partners with Christians who have chosen to use his or her professional skills to minister holistically to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people in the 10/40 Window. Those who serve with Interserve work in North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia; countries whose peoples are primarily Muslims, Hindus, or Tibetan Buddhists. This is sometimes called the 10/40 Window because it refers to the area between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator. Interserve also works in other countries where there are significant groups of migrants from these areas.
The Burts are now working with Interserve USA as coordinators of short-term workers. These workers will be serving in such professions as teachers, youth workers, medical students, nurses, and engineers. All individuals have a heart for using their work as a bridge to people and cultures where missionaries are not welcome and where a witness for Christ is lacking.
