Vacation Bible School Report
Thank you to all the volunteers that made our week of VBS so successful! There were over 175 children in attendance each day for singing, dramatic Bible lesson, games, crafts, and a great time with friends! Adults and children alike enjoyed seeing the story of Noah come to life with our wonderful theatrical team. The VBS kids will share a small part of their week with you today when they sing in the service. Please pray as we reach out to new families in the coming weeks. You can play a vital role by introducing yourself to someone new around you each Sunday!
Beach Night This Wednesday
All Church Beach Night is back this week. Each week from 6:00-8:00 pm, FCCHers gather together under the multi-colored umbrella to enjoy the sun and sand at Singing Beach in Manchester. Enjoy connecting with others, playing games, swimming, grabbing Cap’n Dusty’s ice cream, or just sitting as the sun sets in the evening. All are welcome!
Impact North Shore Prayer Meeting
We invite the whole church to stay in Heritage Hall and join us following the worship service on July 30 for the second of three prayer times focused on where God is leading us to serve and share the gospel in the years ahead. We are excited to launch this new “human capital campaign” of service called Impact North Shore in the months ahead, but we know that we need God’s Spirit to guide and direct us.
Family Promise Cardboard Box City
Family Promise invites YOU to join their Cardboard Box City on Friday, August 11 at Patton Park in Hamilton. This overnight is designed for individuals, families, or groups to raise awareness about the increasing challenges of family homelessness in our community and to help raise funds to support the work of Family Promise. If you are unable to spend the night, just come for the program portion! There will be activities, entertainment and presentations throughout the evening related to family homelessness. For more information or to register, visit https://www.familypromisensb.org/events/cardboard-city. And don’t forget to check the Family Promise link on our church website.
Summer Something Begins This Week
Women, mark your calendars now for Ann Voskamp’s, The Broken Way, DVD series on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm beginning July 18. We will explore how God takes flawed and imperfect sinners, redeems us, and makes us useful in His kingdom. Discussions will be led by Krisie Brown, Cece Gough and Julie Holladay. You do not need to purchase the book or come every week to enjoy this summer study. We will be meeting in the Chapel in the church building.
Front Porch Stories: Episode 2
Join us on July 29 at 7:00 pm for more Front Porch Stories. Come to the Barn for a night of storytelling by people from a pew near you! Bring friends, neighbors, co-workers and people from around town for dessert, coffee, and some great stories. This event is for adults, but childcare will be provided on-site for $5 per family for those with younger children. A suggested $5 per person donation will help cover the cost of dessert and other fun surprises. We hope to see you there!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you to all who made contributions towards restocking our Missions House at 12 Cutler Road. We were able to purchase new bedding and towels and a few other necessary items to greet our guests when they arrive later this summer. Thank you for your generosity.
Summer Trips Coffee House
Save the date for an awesome opportunity to hear firsthand about our youth summer mission trips! The Nassau team is out serving this week and Portland will be leaving at the end of the month. We trust God will use our teams in powerful ways to further His kingdom. Join Chelsea and participating students on Sunday, August 20 at 6:30 pm in the Barn. Coffee, tea, and treats will be provided.
Baptism and Profession of Faith Service
We invite those in our church family to consider making a profession of faith this summer through a special service at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 13 at Gull Pond at Gordon College. Those who have not been baptized as infants may make a profession of faith through baptism by immersion. Those baptized as infants may make a public profession of faith to affirm their baptism. Please contact one of the pastors if you are at least 13 years of age and interested in taking this step.
Explore Thank you
Thank you to all the volunteers and parents that helped make Explore such a success! Despite the ups and downs of the weather, we had a great week with over thirty kids engaging in purposeful conversation and participating in various activities around the North Shore.
High School Bible Study
The high school Bible study will resume our study of Luke on Thursday, July 27 at 10:00 am. Save the date!
