Missions Update

In their most recent update, Daniel and Shelly Young, who serve with United World Mission in La Paz, Mexico, wrote about ways they are reaching out to English speaking people in La Paz in an effort to make new friends outside of their church and Christian circles, prayerfully seeking to reach people’s hearts with the Gospel. They have been visiting a “downtown organic market where foreigners interact with local vendors two mornings a week, as well as hanging out during a coffee hour at the local marina.” Daniel, who continues to recover from his accident and surgery over the summer, said that when they first stared visiting the market he was using a wheelchair, which seemed to open opportunities to connect with people. He is now walking again, though still enduring pain. Please continue to pray for Daniel’s work as pastor to an English congregation in La Paz and with local Mexican youth, mobilizing them into cross cultural missions work. Please pray as well for the work he and Shelly are doing to spread God’s love in new circles.

I have gathered enough easy reader books (in English) to send a big box to the tribal women and girls in Thailand. Now all we need is money to cover the more than $100 postage. If you are interested in partnering to ship these books please write a check to FCCH and write ‘Thailand Book Drive’ on the memo line. Many thanks!
